The biology in plain language
Every hair follicle cycles through a growth phase (anagen), a short transition (catagen) and a resting phase (telogen) before shedding and restarting. In pattern hair loss, follicles gradually spend less time in the growth phase and shrink, producing finer, shorter hairs until they stop producing visible hair at all.
Exosomes are the messengers cells use to influence one another. They carry growth factors, cytokines and microRNA. The hypothesis behind exosome hair treatment is that delivering a concentrated set of these signals to the scalp may encourage the dermal papilla cells that regulate the follicle to behave more like they do in a healthy growth phase: supporting blood supply, reducing local inflammation and prolonging anagen.
This is the same general idea behind PRP therapy, which uses growth factors from your own blood. Exosome products are standardised in a laboratory rather than drawn from you, which is why some clinics view them as a more consistent option. Evidence is still developing, and results vary.

Topical anaesthetic cream is applied for 20 to 30 minutes so the procedure is comfortable.

The exosome solution is applied and worked into the scalp with a microneedling device, or delivered by fine superficial injections.

You receive simple instructions: no washing for a set period, avoid sun and heavy sweating for a day or two.
After the session
Redness and mild tenderness are expected for a day or two. Because hair growth is slow, nothing visible changes for weeks. Most protocols involve a short series of sessions spaced several weeks apart, followed by review.
